Should You Use a Realtor to Sell Your House?

At Property Buyer Connect, we pride ourselves on finding the best solution for our customers. We will admit that in some cases, we may not be the best fit for your goals. In the end though, we would rather help you find the best solution rather than provide a subpar service.

What are the Benefits of Using a Realtor?

As we mentioned in the video, the most important part of using a real estate agent is finding a good one. Real estate is a highly self motivated endeavor. Finding a realtor that will work to meet your needs is key. One of the best ways of finding a realtor is through a referral from someone you know. Generally, someone you trust will be able to give you all the details of their experience – both good and bad.

Now, let’s look at a couple reasons why you would want to use a realtor when selling your property. One advantage of working with a good realtor is the ability to utilize their marketing skills and network. Marketing and networking are two of the most important skills for a good realtor to have. Even more important is for the realtor to know how to best utilize their network.

When Should You Use a Realtor?

So, what are some examples of this? One situation would be if you are trying to sell a unique or niche property. Maybe, based on square footage or location, your property should list for a certain amount. However, due to certain features, your property may fetch a premium among a niche crowd that your realtor can find a way to market to. A good realtor will be able to spot these details and make personalized, specific recommendations.

Another reason to work with a realtor is if you are trying to get the absolute maximum amount for your property. Now, you may be scratching your head at this statement, thinking, “of course everyone wants to get top dollar!” However, that is not always the case – especially with many of the clients we work with. In many cases, people are more concerned with a quick sale, or the ability to sell their property without worrying about costly repairs.

In addition, if you’ve already purchased a new home, sometimes it doesn’t make sense to pay two mortgages for multiple months just to sell for a slightly higher price. However, if you are able to wait, this is where a realtor can be beneficial. With their network and marketing, a good realtor will be able to get you top dollar for your property. Of course, be prepared to pay – and potentially wait, if you go with a leading realtor in your area.
